How to Setup a PUR Water Filter

PUR filter pitchers are easy to use. Prime the filter and insert into the tank. Replace the filter every 40 gallons which will last about two months.

Why does the PUR filter drain slow or stop after a while?

Water flow in PUR filters may become restricted when air pockets of bubbles become trap inside the filter. PUR recommends fixing this by removing the filter and tilting the filter upside-down and at a slight angle. After shaking the filter for a few seconds, the carbon will loosen up and then compact which will get rid of the trapped air.

Enjoy clean water for months

I’ve been using this exact same PUR filter for over 5 years. This filter system makes it so convenient to always have fresh drinking water when I need it. It also helps me significantly cut down on water bottles which is great because I hate creating waste. I make it a habit to fill the pitcher every night. When I wake up in the morning, I fill up my Hydro Flask and I’m out the door. Packs of 2 or 3 replaceable filters are available online for around $20-30. This will give your roughly 6-months (half a year) of clean drinking water (each filter lasts about 2-months depending on how much you drink). Water through these filters tastes natural and clean. If the filter ever starts to feel clogged, simply follow PUR’s instructions for shaking it and clearing out air bubbles.
